About Judging (LR)
It is always easier to see the faults in others rather than looking at our own issues. Jesus is very clear that when it comes to judging others the standard we use to judge them will also be used to judge us. Both Jesus and Paul flesh out the point that we should not be spending our time judging those outside of the faith; instead we should worry about ourselves and helping one another to be faithful disciples of Jesus.
Unifying Phrase: Judge the insider, not the outsider.
- As disciples of Jesus we must be very careful when we judge others, for the same standard will be applied to us.
- We are very good at seeing the small faults in others while being blind to our own issues.
- We have no business judging those outside of the faith, but we must hold other disciples of Jesus accountable.
- Holding an unbeliever to the same standards that we are called to live by will only enrage them.
