About Love (OH)

In His Sermon on the Mount Jesus taught on a variety of subjects including love.  Throughout the sermon Jesus raises the bar for His followers and when it comes to love He really ups the ante by calling to love even our enemies and to be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect.  In a world that teaches that love must be earned or deserved, what if we simply loved others, even our enemies?

Unifying Phrase:  Being loved always leads to loving others.

  • Jesus loved us when we were dead in our sins and His enemy (Ephesians 2).
  • Jesus raises the bar higher than we could ever achieve on our own.
  • Loving others always starts with Jesus love for us.
  • The greatest mark of distinction from the world for a disciple of Jesus is love.
