Against Evil (LR)
What do we do when hard times come? We could respond by getting angry, feeling guilty, or remaining apathetic. But as Jesus closes the prayer he taught his disciples he invites them, and us, to see trials for what they really are and run to him for deliverance.
Unifying Phrase: “Don’t be surprised at the fiery trials” (1 Pt. 4:12).
- All of life is filled with tests—little ones and big ones.
- In all tests, the real enemy is evil (not pain or consequences).
- For Christians, the cross of Jesus is the structure of life.
- Tests can only be processed through the love of Jesus.
