YHWH revealing Himself to the people of Israel at Mt. Sinai is at the heart of the Torah (Ex. 19 – Num. 10), however Sinai was not the final destination of the Israelites.  The LORD’s promise that Israel would one day dwell together with Him in the Promised Land of Canaan kept Israel moving forward.  The two chief concerns of the Book of Numbers are preparing God’s people to live in the land of Canaan, along with their journey to this land. What land are you motivated to drive towards, as the LORD leads you together with His Church?  As we continue to see this present life to be a wilderness at times, do you have your eyes fixed on the greater land, the heavenly things, which God has won for us through Jesus? When our eyes are fixed on “things of heaven” it impacts how we live here on earth, in our wildernesses here.  Paul fleshes this out in Colossians 3.
