Bitter Waters (Study)

Sometimes in life we can become impatient, even angry, with God.  Our patience wears thin and we act in our own way and timing.  Moses did just this in the wilderness.  Even though Moses had an incredible role to play in the relationship between God and His people, God is still just and provides consequence for Moses’ disobedient action.  How about us?  Are their times when we are not heeding God’s instruction and instead taking things into our own hands?  Are there consequences to our disobedient actions?  Consequences aside, God still provides salvation to those who trust in His unfailing love; even if they have disobeyed severely.  Moses was not disqualified from God’s eternal Promised Land; however, he was disqualified from entering into the earthly one that God had intended him and his generation to dwell in.  Jesus declares in John 7 that anyone who believes in Him will receive the Holy Spirit, which is like rivers of living water flowing from the heart.  When we trust in and follow the Holy Spirit, we are refreshed by the living waters that God promises us. God has given you the gift of faith which allows you to not lose your patience in Him, but to trust Him for all things, being blessed by His refreshing waters.
