The LORD provides enough for each day, that the Israelites might find their sustenance fully from Him. They depend and trust upon Him for their daily bread. Jesus says that He is the Bread of Life. Do we find our sustenance fully in Him? Do we depend on and trust in Him for all things, or are there areas of our lives where we have taken control and seen to provide for ourselves? Do we gather too much of the earthly things that God has blessed us with and try to store them up and hold onto them? The Scriptures tell us in numerous places that we can’t take the things of the world with us when we die. The world and its pleasures fade away. Jesus calls disciples to trust on Him alone and to place their hope in heavenly treasures, not earthly ones.

Consider what it means to depend on Jesus for your sustenance; then depend upon Him for it. Read Exodus 27-29.
