Eat, Serve, and Play (OH)
A neighborhood without neighboring relationships is just a housing unit. How can we develop deep and meaningful relationships in our home communities? As we look back at the history of the church, relationships begin with a simple invitation into community.
Unifying Phrase: A neighborhood needs neighbors.
- What makes Christian actions different from other ‘good’ people?
- We follow the One who wasn’t just ‘good’. Jesus gave everything so we could receive everything we really need.
- God’s Holy Spirit leads church to turn its closeness inside out.
- The early church lived lives that made other people curious about who they were and why they did what they did.
- Sometimes the best thing we can give our neighbors is to invite them to live life with us--to say, “Come and see for yourself” who I am in Jesus.
- How might you invite your neighbor into your life? Your eating, your serving, your playing?
