For All People (VC1)

Sometimes we like limits. We limit who we hang out with or who we see as “good people”. We even limit how much we’re willing to give up for someone else. But God broke down limits. He sent his messengers to the middle of nowhere to announce his Son’s birth—to a hill country with no one but shepherds around. But the message of the angels was world-shattering: a Savior had come. Not for some. Not with limits. Jesus was born for all.

Unifying Phrase: Jesus came for everyone.

  • We like to follow limiting agendas in our world. It dictates who we are friends with, who we see as trustworthy, etc.
  • At Christmas, Jesus came to be a Savior with no agenda but to bring salvation to everyone.
  • Christmas was something the whole world needed, not just forgiveness but a completely new reality.
  • Because of Christmas, followers of Jesus are invited to do what Jesus did: to hang out with people—all different kinds of people—and inviting them to experience God’s gift of grace.
