In the parable of the Lost Son, Jesus teaches that our Father in heaven gives us second chances through the gift of forgiveness. In this parable two sons are lost, one because of his wild living, the other because of his pride. It is not hard to see where we are like these two brothers; the challenge for us along the way is to see our Father who is waiting with open arms ready to forgive.
