While being tempted in the wilderness, Jesus denied his own control and followed God’s will.  Today, we are used to having control over so much of our life and we often fail to seek God’s Word and will for our lives so that we can call all the shots ourselves.  God wants us to deny ourselves and give him the final say in all areas of our lives.

What is one area in your life that you are still calling all the shots?  Begin each day this week exploring different scripture verses that speak to that area and seek God’s direction in that area. 

Share one area in your life (career, finances, parenting, marriage, future) where you have been calling all the shots.  Take some time to explore a couple of verses in scripture that speaks to that area and what it would mean to give up your control in that area.
