In the Tent (Study)

Looking back in the Torah, we recall that when the LORD’s glory descended upon the Tent of Meeting (the Tabernacle) at the end of Exodus (40:34–35), Moses could not enter the tent (because of his sin and the sin of the people). In the first verse of Leviticus we saw that the LORD called out to Moses and spoke to him from the tent. The LORD’s objective in Leviticus was to move Moses and the Israelites from being outside of the tent; into the tent. God desired to dwell together with (to tabernacle with) His people. The LORD has now accomplished this, as we see in Numbers opening verse that the LORD spoke to Moses in the tent (1:1). Many years later, we see in the Book of Hebrews that Jesus is counted more worthy than Moses as a priest and that His priestly sacrifice of His perfect body and blood bring us sinners into the presence of God even more fully than Moses (the law) ever could.  This is all by faith, that we receive this great gift from God! It was God’s plan from the time that He made His covenant with Abraham and even back to the proto-evangelium of Genesis 3: 15.
