Israel's Oppression (OH)
The people of Israel found themselves bound as slaves and seen as enemies of the Egyptians in a distant and foreign land. The Pharaohs had forgotten Joseph and the good things that God had done through him in order to bless the Egyptians. We too found ourselves bound as slaves at one time. We needed rescuing from our plight of death that was brought on from the curse of sin in each of our lives. In Christ Jesus’ death and resurrection, we who live by faith in the Son of God have been brought from death to life, solely by His redeeming work.
Spend some time listening to the cries of those who face oppression in our world today. Pray that God would deliver them. Read Exodus 1-2.
