Through the plagues the LORD shows His presence and His might, as well as His commitment to rescuing and redeeming Israel. Pharaoh’s heart is hardened, in order that the LORD might display His power and be remembered by all the nations for what He did in Egypt to free His people. He is the God above all other gods. He turns the Egyptian god Ra to darkness, showing that He is Maker and Master of daylight. Ultimately, the LORD is on mission, desiring all nations to know and trust upon Him and His Son, Jesus. Through Abraham’s offspring, the LORD will bless all the families of the earth.
