Lukewarm in Laodicea (LR)

Jesus has little encouragement for the church in Laodicea; they are lukewarm and worship comfort, not Christ. Though materially wealthy, they are spiritually poor, blind, and naked; the similarities to our culture today are striking.  What can learn from the church in Laodicea about priorities and the importance of following Jesus above everything else?

Unifying Phrase:  Comfort and Convenience before Jesus

  • Give a description of the city and church at Laodicea.
  • Some professing churches are not practicing faithfulness.
  • What does it mean to be lukewarm: poor, naked, blind and worshipping comfort over Jesus.
  • How are we lukewarm and what can free us from this trap?
  • An invitation to sit on the throne through Jesus.
