Some object that the fact of appalling evil and suffering in the world is proof that God does not exist or if He does, He simply does not care.  They wonder if God is so loving, why would He would create a world filled with so much suffering.

Suffering and death were not part of God’s creation.  They entered the world through the fall and have been a consequence ever since.  It is sin and not God who created suffering.  Amazingly, Jesus took the full weight of our sin and entered into deep suffering on our behalf so that we may be restored and set free.  In the light of our freedom in Christ how do we respond to the suffering in our world?
