Redefining Hope (OH)

It seems as though we are always in search of hope, but it remains elusive to us here on earth.  Like the younger son, we think everything will be better if we just go home… Adam and Eve were created to live in the Garden of Eden… when they were exiled, they felt displaced the rest of their lives.  The Garden of Eden was a place where there was no parting for love, no decay, no disease.  But the world we know is filled with it.  We are all looking for that Garden of Eden, that perfect place.  Maybe we think it’s the cabin up north, or it’s Arizona in the winter…  No matter how much we search for hope here on this earth, we will never find it.  We will always be disappointed.  This is not our home… It will take the Father to welcome us home for all eternity.
