The arrival of Jesus signaled the end of the Temple Model and the beginning of something entirely new—a life of faith in Christ characterized by love of others. Temple Model thinking is always you-focused. But Jesus’ new covenant calls for a focus on the you beside you. As disciples loved by God, we are called to follow Jesus’ example and radically love the people around us.

1. When we follow you-focused temple thinking, the Bible becomes a bat and the church becomes a museum for perfect people.
2. The Jesus Model is not centered on you, but the you beside you.
3. The Jesus Model is simpler to understand, but it leads to more sacrifice.
