Scape-goats (VC)
The scape-goat in ancient Israel was the object that bore the full wrath that was due the people of Israel for their sins against the LORD and against one another. The High Priest would place his hands upon the head of the goat and confess over it all of the iniquities, transgressions, and sins of the people. The high priest would then send the goat out into the wilderness, bearing all of their sins outside of the camp. Jesus, we see on Good Friday becomes the scape-goat (in a sense) for the sins of the world. Jesus bears our sins on a cross outside of the city walls of Jerusalem at Golgotha.[1] On the third day, He was raised from the grave, giving all who trust on Him victory over death.
Now that you have become the righteousness of God, through Jesus, live like it! The Holy Spirit gives you the power to live in the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23).
