Live Worship

Sent (OH)

Disciples of Jesus are sent into the world. God’s mission is global, but how does it start? The way we are called to influence the world for Christ isn’t to change the whole world overnight. That would be overwhelming and impossible. The way we influence the world for Christ is life on life, person to person, and often one at a time. The best way to do that is to look no further than right next door.

Unifying Phrase: You’ve already been sent (and it’s where you are).

  • If we are sent to do a task, we like to stall when we’re unsure, afraid, or aren’t clear of what we are supposed to do.
  • We are sent out with Good News, that God is for us and that God has come to bring us true life.
  • “[Jesus does not give me a mission to do for him. Jesus invites me to come with him [on mission]” (Greg Finke).
  • When Jesus first prepares his disciples to be sent out, he calls them to start locally (where they already live).
  • As we think about where God is leading us in Multiply, the best place for us to see where God is working is where we already are.
  • Who is where you are?
