The things of this earth amount to nothing.  Whenever you serve someone, Jesus says that you are to do it in secret.  If you announce it, you will have an earthly reward and that’s it.  Even our good deeds are dirty, like the ashes we put on our foreheads.  Jesus didn’t reveal who he was to the people, choosing to serve them instead of being served.  Serve others in the same way.
