Teach Us to Pray (OH)
Many of us have felt a deep desire to pray and want a strong prayer life. Yet, consistency and depth in prayer can be difficult. When Jesus’ disciples asked for help with their own prayers, his response invited them to see prayer in a new light. Prayer begins not with what we say, but with knowing who we’re talking to.
Unifying Phrase: Prayer begins with seeing God as our Father.
- We have all struggled with prayer in various ways.
- We are called to pray all throughout Scripture.
- According to Jesus, prayer is work, responding to God, balanced interaction, and a way God works in our lives.*
- Seeing God as Father invites us to see we can trust in him.
- We can only call God Father because of Christ.
