The Blood (VC)

The main link between the Books of Exodus and Leviticus is blood. It is the blood of the spotless lambs at Passover that keep all that trust in the LORD from the destroyer who comes to take away life. In Leviticus, it is the blood of animals in the tabernacle which allow for sinful human beings to dwell together with the LORD. It is the blood of Jesus the Christ, the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world, which fully rescues us from the impending death that our sin requires of us. Christ, through His life, death, and resurrection has freed us from our slavery and death and given us life instead.

Consider why blood had to be shed for the payment of our sins. What does it mean for you and your family, that Jesus took the place of your blood being shed for the consequences of your sin?
