Just as YHWH cut the covenant with Abram through his sacrifice, Jesus ultimately cuts the covenant by giving up His life as a ransom, in order to fulfill the LORD’s promise to Abram: “that in you all the families of the earth will be blessed” (Gen 12:3b).  Jesus is the fulfillment of YHWH’s covenant to Abram, He is the covenant cut on Calvary.
